Women’s Tennis tops Emmanuel College on Saturday

Bulldogs sweep Lions 7-0
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team returned to action after a week between matches on Saturday, sweeping Emmanuel College 7-0 at the Asheville Racquet Club.
Lize Alet Morkel continued to take care of business in the singles action, winning her match 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 3-0 on the young season. Ami Grace Dougah topped Alejandra Guerrero 6-2, 6-1, while Beatrice Faureng won 6-0, 6-2 and Anastasia Horvat prevailed 6-3, 7-6 as both players improved to 2-1 this season. Brianna Taranto and Taylor Love each went to the third set in their singles matches, but ultimately were victorious.
In doubles action, Dougah and Taranto had no trouble in their doubles match, cruising to a 6-1 victory, while Faureng and Horvat won 3-0. Alet Morkel and Love had a close match against Alejandra Guerrero and Elisa Man-Hsuan Weng, but edged out the pair 7-6.
Asheville returns to the court on Wednesday, welcoming Western Carolina for a match beginning at 3:00 p.m.
