Women’s Tennis to host Western Carolina on Wednesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After a victory over Emmanuel College on Saturday, the UNC Asheville women's tennis team returns to the court on Wednesday, welcoming Western Carolina University to the Asheville Racquet Club.
The Bulldogs have been led by junior Lize Alet Morkel, who has gotten off to a 3-0 start at the No. 1 singles position, including a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Chattanooga's Jessie Young. Alet Morkel has teamed up with Taylor Love to go 2-1 at the No. 1 doubles, while Love is 1-1 in singles competition.
The Catamounts opened the season with a pair of victories over Lenoir-Rhyne, but have since dropped two matches to Clemson and Appalachian State to sit at 2-2 on the season. Western Carolina is led by Kata Foldeak who is 3-1 at No. 1 singles.
Asheville leads the series 24-13, winning the last matchup 5-2 in February of 2019.
