Bulldogs to Host Terriers in Sunday Afternoon Showdown

ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville's women's tennis team continues its six-match home stand to open the season when it plays host to Wofford in a 3 p.m., Sunday, matchup at the Asheville Racquet Club.
The Bulldogs (3-0) have jumped out of the gate strong, winning each of their first three matchups. They defeated Mars Hill, 7-0, Tuesday, winning all six singles matches in straight sets.
Senior Emily Sidor leads the way with a 3-0 record in singles competition. She earned the Big South Conference's Player of the Week award for her efforts in the season's opening week. She has teamed up with fellow senior Lauren Watson-Steele in doubles, and the duo has won all three of its matches so far.
The freshmen pairing of Ami Grace Dougah and Brianna Taranto is also 3-0 in doubles competition. Freshman Rosie Dickson is 2-0 in singles play.
The Terriers have also opened the season with a 3-0 record, most recently picking up a 4-3 victory on the road against Stetson last Sunday.
