Gasparro, Freeberger Collect Multiple Hits in Bulldog Loss at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Greg Gasparro led the Bulldogs with three hits in UNC Asheville's 14-2 road loss to Wofford on Tuesday evening at King Field.
UNC Asheville (1-6) opened the game by scoring two runs in the top of the first to take a 2-0 advantage.
Gasparro kicked things off in the game by singling. He was then moved over to second off a single by Dominic Freeberger. Joe Gruszka then grounded out to move the two over into scoring position. The two were then able to come home after a fielding error by Wofford.
Wofford (4-2) from there would score the next 14 to take the 14-2 win. The Terriers out-hit the Bulldogs 15-7 in the game.
Gasparro finished 3-of-4 overall with a run scored. He was not the only Bulldog with multiple hits with Freeberger going 2-of-3 with a run scored. PJ Heintz and Danny Wilson also had hits for the Bulldogs.
Brett Rodriquez led Wofford with four hits.
Wilson (0-1) took the loss on the hill for the Bulldogs, while Wofford's Cameron Bloodworth (1-1) picked up his first win on the mound of the season.
UNC Asheville will travel to Furman on Wednesday to take on the Paladins. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. on Feb. 27 in Greenville, S.C.
