About UNC Asheville

Winners of five straight contests, the Bulldogs have turned their season around by moving to .500 for the first time this season and placing themselves in a three-way tie for first place in the Big South.

During their five-game win streak, the Bulldogs have recorded a recipe for winning: don't turn the ball over, force turnovers, don't foul, get to the free-throw line and grab loose balls. Despite making 27 more field goals on 13 fewer attempts than their opponents, the Bulldogs have converted on 34 more free throws, grabbed 39 more rebounds, committed 19 fewer turnovers, forced 13 more steals and committed 16 fewer turnovers.

In the five-game stretch, the Bulldogs are averaging 69.0 ppg and holding opponents to 51.6 ppg (+17.4 scoring margin). They are also averaging 6.8 more free-throws made per game and out-rebounding opponents by 7.8 on average.

Scouting the Blue Hose

Presbyterian enters the weekend contest with a 6-12 overall record and a 3-4 mark in league play. The Blue Hose are 1-9 in road games this year including 0-3 in Big South road games. In its last four games, PC has won three games - Campbell, Gardner-Webb and Winthrop.

Preseason Big South First Team selection, Cortney Storey leads the Blue Hose in points per game (14.8), steals (33), field goals made (89), field goals attempted (194) and minutes per game (38.4). Kacie Hall is second on the squad with 10.7 ppg while she averages 31.6 minutes and 1.33 steals per game. Janie Miles - who is the team's third leading scorer (9.9 ppg) - leads the team with 3.9 rebounds per game.

All-Time History Versus Presbyterian

Saturday's contest marks the 24th all-time meeting between the two clubs with Asheville leading 13-10. Last year, the two teams played three times as the Bulldogs won at PC 67-60 and in the Big South Semifinals 56-55.

During the semifinal game, the two teams went back-and-forth as the Blue Hose nearly claimed the come-from-behind victory as it out-scored Asheville 32-25 in the second half. However, the Bulldogs fended off Presbyterian to earn their second straight trip to the Big South Championship and ultimately their second straight Big South Championship title. In that game, Chatori Major dropped a team-high 15 points while Fitzgerald added 14 points and 13 boards.
