About UNC Asheville
The Bulldogs enter the mid-week game with a 0-5 overall record including a 0-3 mark in road contests. In their most recent matchup versus Middle Tennessee, the Bulldogs out-scored the Blue Raiders 32-30 in the second half, but MTSU held a 17-point advantage at halftime to secure its fourth victory of the season.
Since senior center Bronaza Fitzgerald has returned to the starting lineup (Nov. 18 vs Charlotte), she has scored 38 points (12.7 ppg) including posting a career best versus MTSU as she drained 19 points. She is also leading the squad with 17 total rebounds (5.7 rebounds per game) including 11 offensive boards during that stretch. She is also pacing the team as she has blocked four shots in her three starts this season. Post players Brooke Jordan-Brown, Alexis Toney and Juliet Esadah have all seen success since Fitzgerald's return. Jordan-Brown dropped a season-high 13 points against MTSU, and Toney has totaled 12 rebounds and corralled a team-leading four steals. Esadah has grabbed nine rebounds and 10 points in the last three games.
UNC Asheville has shown a lot of poise in the fourth quarter as it has totaled 85 points (17 points average) in the final 10 minutes of play. At the Big South Conference Media Day, the Bulldogs were selected to finish fifth, despite receiving the second-highest amount of first-place votes in the league. Radford earned seven of the total first-place votes as the Highlanders were selected the win the league.
