The Bulldogs got the first points of the second half on a layup by Shepard to pull within two points but that would be as close as they would get. Liberty went on an 8-0 run over the next four minutes to get the lead to double figures at 41-31 with 15:50 to play. Brittany Hendley knocked down one of her three three-point shots to put Asheville to within seven but Liberty held the Dogs without a field goal for the next five minutes to build the lead back to 13 points at 48-35 with 11:14 to play.
