2019 (Senior): Led the team with a career-best 33 service aces, tied for 11th-most at Asheville in a single season since 2008 … Set the program single-match record with eight service aces against South Carolina State (10/22) in just three sets … Ranked fifth in the Big South, averaging 0.33 aces per set … Finished second on the team and tied her career-high with 235 kills … Also finished second in points (275.5) and digs (263), both of which set career-highs … Earned Big South Honorable Mention recognition … Had a career performance on Senior Day against Hampton (11/16), setting career-bests in kills with 18 and digs with 19 in a sweep … Finished the year with a career-best eight double-doubles to lead the team … Recorded 12 kills and 18 digs in the Bulldogs’ five-set comeback victory against Presbyterian (11/2) … Posted 17 kills and 15 digs in the Big South opener as the Bulldogs swept USC Upstate (9/28).

Rooks closed out UNC Asheville's two matches in the Big South Tournament with 2.50 kills and 2.00 digs per set ... She had 20 kills and 16 digs in total ... In UNC Asheville's thrilling come-from-behind five-set win over USC Upstate (11/16) in the Big South Tournament quarterfinals, Rooks ended her efforts with 15 kills, 12 digs and two aces ... She hit .324 in the match ... On the year, Rooks finished the season averaging 2.35 kills per set ... The Hickory, N.C. native had a team second-best 235 kills in total in 100 sets played ... Rooks will enter her senior season with 597 career kills ... One of only six to play in all 100 sets and 28 matches, Rooks also averaged 0.94 digs per set ... She finished her season with 94 digs ... 2016 (Freshman): Rooks started 21 of the 23 matches she saw action in, playing a total of 89 sets … On the year, she recorded 188 kills, averaging 2.11 per set, and also added 156 total digs and 25 total blocks, including three solo blocks … She averaged 1.75 digs per set …She posted four double-doubles on the year … Rooks made her collegiate debut against North Carolina Central (9/9), recording her first collegiate kills and dig … The next day, in a match against Alabama A&M, she made her first collegiate start … In that match, she recorded a season-high 13 kills while hitting .765 … She also had six digs … On the year, she had nine matches with double-digit kills, including matching her season-high of 13 kills against Charleston Southern (10/11) … She recorded her first career double-double against Radford (10/1) with 11 kills and 11 digs … She had a season-high 15 digs against Charleston Southern (10/21).
High School: A four-year varsity starter, Rooks played for Hickory High School and head coach Jason Stephens and was a three-sport athlete … A four-time All-Conference honoree in volleyball, Rooks was named the conference Player of the Year as a freshman in 2012 and again as a senior in 2015 … During her prep career, she was named her team’s MVP and Offensive MVP and also earned the Coaches Award … During her junior and senior campaigns, she led the Tornadoes to undefeated seasons in conference play … She played her club ball for Carolina Juniors Volleyball (CJV) and head coach Zoe Bell … She was voted to the Carolina Region VBA All-Region team twice and also played in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships … Rooks also played varsity basketball and varsity soccer for Hickory, earning All-Conference plaudits three times in both sports … She led the basketball team to the State Championship as a junior and was named the team’s MVP as a sophomore … She earned the Golden Boot award in soccer for scoring the most goals on the team, was named the team’s MVP and was also an All-District honoree … Away from sports, Rooks was a member of the National Honors Society as well as the Academic Honors Society and earned the AAA Scholar Athlete Award.
