Overview: Transfer from the University of Wyoming who made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs in both cross country and track and field last year...native of Kenya...should be a leader for Asheville in 2010 cross country with a shot at Big South All-Conference honors.
2009 Cross Country: Was one of Asheville's top runners throughout the season...finished fourth in the WCU Open (9-4) with a time of 16:19 in 5K event...took eighth in the Big South Preview (9-19) with time of 27:14 in 8K...top time in 8K was 25:24 at Charlotte Invitational (10-2)...came in 15th at Big South Conference meet with time of 26:49 (10-31).
Before UNC Asheville: Ran cross country for the University of Wyoming last fall...top time was 25:49.2 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis over 8,000 meters...competed in six different meets for Cowboys...joined the UW track and field team mid-season in 2007-08...during the outdoor season, he set his personal best in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.27, and a second place at the Victor Lopez Classic, in Houston Texas...attended Kalyet High School in Kenya where he received an individual honor for the 1,500 meter event.
