2018 (Senior): Guthrie put together one of the best careers in the history of UNC Asheville volleyball ... The senior outside hitter joined the ultra-exclusive club of those with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in UNC Asheville's road win at Radford to close out the regular season ... Guthrie finished her impressive career with 1,262 kills and 1,025 digs ... Guthrie with over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs became just the 46th player in Big South Conference history to have 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career ... Guthrie also ended her career with 138 aces, meaning that with her over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs she became just the 35th in league history with over 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs and 100 aces ... The Jupiter, Fla. native closed out her career as a three-time All-Big South selection ... In addition to first-team all-league honors in 2017 and 2018, she also was an Honorable Mention selection in the 2016 season ... She was also chosen first-team All-State by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) ... In addition, Guthrie was also chosen as an official candidate for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate volleyball ... Cara Guthrie was twice named Big South Volleyball Player of the Week during the 2018 season ... She was a preseason all-league selection as well ... 2017 (Junior): Chosen to the All-Big South first-team ... Guthrie closed out the regular season third in the Big South Conference in both kills (3.82) and points (4.34) per set ... She was also eighth in the league in service aces per set at 0.33 ... Guthrie was twice named Big South Player of the Week, garnering weekly honors from the league on Oct. 9 and Oct. 30 ... Overall, Guthrie had a team-best 391 kills and team second-best 303 digs on the season ... Guthrie had 10 matches with 17 or more kills on the season ... She collected a team season-best 23 kills in UNC Asheville's 3-1 road win at Charleston Southern (10/27) ... 2016 (Sophomore): Named a Big South All-Conference honorable-mention selection … Started 28 matches, playing in 108 sets … Concluded the season in the top-10 in the league in two other categories, including third in service aces per set (0.36) and total service aces with 38 … Had 17 matches where she recorded double-digit kills, including two where she registered at least 20 kills … Finished with a season-high 25 in the first match of the season against Charleston Southern (10/11) and just missed out on a double-double with eight digs … Guthrie collected 22 kills against Liberty (9/30) and just missed out on a double-double as she corralled in eight digs … Recorded nine double-doubles on the season, including 17 kills and 20 digs against Radford (10/28) and 15 kills and a season-high 24 digs at Presbyterian (11/8) … Ended the season with a stretch of eight-straight matches where she corralled in double-digit digs.

2015 (Freshman): Started 26 of the 27 matches she appeared in as a true freshman, playing in 89 total sets … Led the team with 31 service aces and was fourth on the squad with 180 kills … Recorded 24 total blocks on the year … Was third on the team with 185 digs, an average of 2.8 digs per set … Had four matches where she recorded double-digit kills and six matches with double-digit digs … Made her collegiate debut against USC Upstate (8/28) … Had four consecutive matches where she came close to recording a double-double, including 11 digs and nine kills against Wright State (9/19) before finally breaking through in the Bulldogs’ 3-1 win over Gardner-Webb (9/25) with 10 kills and 10 digs … Recorded a season-high six service winners in the second meeting with Gardner-Webb (10/16) … Had a season-high 17 digs in UNC Asheville’s 3-2 road win over Charleston Southern (10/23) to go along with eight kills … In the season finale against Winthrop, a 3-1 loss in the Big South Conference Championships, Guthrie recorded a season-high 15 kills to go along with seven digs and three service aces.

Before UNC Asheville: Guthrie earned two varsity letters at Jupiter High School in Jupiter, Fla., under the guidance of head coach Blane Betz … In 2014, she was named the Palm Beach County Player of the Year and also received State 8A Volleyball Academic Team Honors … In 2013, she was named to the All-Conference First Team … The Warriors were runners up in the state playoffs one season and also were named the state academic champions … Competed with Jupiter Elite under head coach Tom Amenita … Guthrie and her club team competed in the Junior Olympics … She was a member of Jupiter High School’s National Honor Society, the Science Honor Society and the Social Studies Honor Society.
