Hoese Ties for 14th as Bulldogs Close Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Golfweek Women's Fall Challenge on Tuesday, finishing 18th in the 23-team field at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
The Bulldogs carded a 308 (+24) in Tuesday's final round to finish the three-day tournament at 908 (+56). Asheville opened the event with a 295 before recording rounds of 305 and 308 over the final two days. Asheville finished ahead of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, USC Upstate, Presbyterian, Stephen F. Austin and Queens.
Breanna Hoese led Asheville throughout the tournament and earned a tie for 14th individually in the 120-player field. Hoese closed the tournament with a 2-over 73 on Tuesday to finish at 3-over 216. She opened the tournament with a 2-under 69 before rounds of 74 and 73 to secure the top-15 finish.
Hoese was especially strong on the par-3 holes throughout the three rounds, playing them at 2-under with a 2.87 scoring average. She also finished the tournament with 35 pars and nine birdies.
Jordyn Arts was Asheville's second-highest finisher, tying for 51st at 11-over 224. Arts recorded rounds of 73 and 74 over the first two days before closing with a 77 on Tuesday. She finished the tournament with a team-high 10 birdies.
Praelyn Jirasaraikul finished tied for 85th at 16-over 229 following rounds of 74, 77 and 78. Ella Moynihan finished 111th at 27-over 240 after posting an 80 in all three rounds, while Sydney Craven rounded out Asheville's lineup at 41-over 254.
As a team, Asheville recorded 140 pars and 31 birdies during the three-day event.
UNCW captured the team title at 2-over 854, finishing three strokes ahead of Campbell. Campbell's Miah Rivas won the individual title at 3-under 210.

The Bulldogs return to action Sept. 21-23 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo.
