Patterson Leads Asheville After Day One of Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – After the opening round of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Monday, the UNC Asheville women's golf team sits tied for ninth place in the 19-team field and ranks second among the four Big South programs competing.
Asheville posted a team score of 301 (+17) in the first round, led by Caroline Patterson, who carded a 72 (+1) to sit in a four-way tie for 12th place. Patterson battled through a 3-over front nine before bouncing back with a strong 2-under performance on the back nine.
Jordyn Arts turned in a 75 (+4) and is tied for 29th, while Breanna Hoese followed closely with a 76 (+5), placing her in a tie for 38th.
Pennie Osterberg recorded a 78 (+7) and is tied for 60th, while Lauren Madson rounded out the Bulldogs' lineup with an 80 (+9), placing her in a tie for 74th.
The second round of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge will commence tomorrow morning (Tuesday, April 6).
