Women's Tennis Drops Tight Match at Wofford on Wednesday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis dropped a tight 4-3 match at Wofford on Wednesday (Mar. 18).

Wofford captured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead in the match, before Asheville battled back to win three singles matches and have the result come down to the last match. After a result in Wofford's favor made it 2-0, defending Big South Conference Player of the Week Angelina Joy Hug got the Bulldogs on the board with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 over Grace Agster. Valeria Centeno would tie the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Grace Stout at No. 6, before Wofford took a 3-2 lead with a three-set win at No. 3. Sofia Segui would knot the match up yet again with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) win over Ella Suk at No. 4, before Wofford earned a three-set win at No. 5 to clinch the match.
