Baseball Drops Rubber Game at Presbyterian on Sunday

CLINTON, S.C. -Â UNC Asheville Baseball dropped the rubber game of its opening Big South Conference series at Presbyterian on Sunday (Mar. 15) by a score of 11-1 in seven innings.

The Bulldogs scored the first run of the game in the top of the first when Logan Lowe scored on a RBI single to left by Jake Minarik, before Presbyterian responded with two runs in the second, two in the third, four in the fourth and three in the sixth to bring the game to its final score.

Logan Lowe, Minarik, Owen Michelson, Eric Krumpe and Coleman McGinnis each had one hit in the game for Asheville. Krumpe had Asheville's lone extra-base hit in the game with a double. Lowe scored Asheville's lone run in the game, while Minarik drove in the run for the Bulldogs. Lowe also stole one base in the game. Drew Turner (3-2) took the loss on the bump for Asheville, allowing two runs on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts in the game. Garrett Crum took the next inning, before Branden Barna and Lucas Boesen finished off the game for the Bulldog pitching staff. McGinnis also gunned down one runner in the game.
