Bulldogs Take Down Quinnipiac to Conclude Spring Break Trip in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis took down Quinnipiac 4-1 to conclude the team's Spring Break trip to Florida on Thursday (Mar. 12).
 
Asheville took two out of three in doubles play, starting at No. 3 when Avery Sager and Maria Sol Alvarez Brandon beat Caroline Schulson and Isabella Sicignano 6-2. Isabella Moss and Valeria Centeno clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Anagha Shankar and Emily Meng at No. 2.
 
After Quinnipiac picked up a win at No. 2 singles, Sager beat Isabella Baker 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 3 to put Asheville back up 2-1. Angelina Joy Hug was able to grind out a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 win over Willow Renton at No. 1, before Centeno clinched the match for Asheville with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Ella Lewis at No. 6.

The Bulldogs (8-5, 1-0 Big South Conference) return to action next Wednesday (Mar. 18) to take on Wofford in non-conference action. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. from Spartanburg, S.C.
