Women's Tennis Battles, but Drops Tilt with Navy on Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis battled until the final point but dropped a 4-3 tilt with Navy on Tuesday (Mar. 10) on their Spring Break trip.

Navy swept doubles play for a 1-0 lead in the match, before Asheville would mount a rally in singles play. Angelina Joy Hug got the Bulldogs on the board with a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) win over Emma Gu at No. 1, before Navy took a 3-1 lead with wins at No. 3 and No. 6. Maria Sol Alvarez Brandon would get the Dogs back in the match with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win over Anna Jordaan at No. 5, before Isabella Moss would tie the match 3-3 with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory over Nicole Fu at No. 2. Navy secured the victory by grinding out a three-set tiebreak victory at No. 4.
