Baseball Heads to Charlotte for Final Midweek, Welcomes USC Upstate for Final Weekend Series and Senior Day

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Baseball heads to Charlotte on Tuesday (May 13) for the final midweek game of the season, before hosting USC Upstate this weekend (May 15-17) for its final weekend series, the Ingles I-26 Rivalry and Senior Day.

UNC Asheville comes into the week at 15-31 overall and 8-13 in the Big South Conference after winning one out of three at Charleston Southern over the weekend.
Asheville is seventh in the Big South hitting .270 as a team, eighth in the conference with an 8.82 earned run average and sixth with a .961 fielding percentage.
Clay Edmondson leads the conference and ranks 15^th in Division I with an ERA of 2.23, while he also ranks second in the conference with 81 strikeouts.

Upstate is also second in the conference and fourth in Division I in hits with 591, while ranking second in the conference and third in Division I in runs with 497 runs and also averaging 9.6 runs per game which ranks second in the conference and fourth in Division I.
Scott Newman and Johnny Sweeney each have 17 home runs on the season, good for second in the conference and 24^th in Division I. Sweeney also leads both the conference and the nation in RBI with 78.
