Women's Tennis Falls to Gardner-Webb in Big South Championship Semifinal

LEXINGTON, S.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis fell to Gardner-Webb 4-3 in its Big South Conference Championship semifinal on Friday (Apr. 18).
Gardner-Webb secured the doubles point with two wins out of three, before Asheville would rally in singles play to take a 3-2 lead.
Valeria Centeno got Asheville on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Greta Murzsa at No. 6, before Gardner-Webb would take a 2-1 lead with a win at No. 5. Elizabeth Tindera would tie the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Milica Prokic at No. 3, before Angelina Joy Hug would rally for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 to give Asheville a 3-2 lead. Gardner-Webb would rally in their own right with wins at No. 4 and No. 1 to take the victory.
