Caroline Patterson Named Newcomer of the Year to Highlight Postseason Awards for Women’s Golf

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced the 2025 Women's Golf Annual Awards, and the UNC Asheville women's golf team collected seven postseason honors, with Caroline Patterson highlighting the awards by earning Newcomer of the Year.
Patterson is the second Big South Women's Golf Newcomer of the Year, which was added in 2024 to recognize the top non-freshman transfer playing in the Big South for the first time. In her first season with the Bulldogs, Patterson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) finished fifth in the Big South Championship at 226 to earn a spot on the All-Championship Team. She ranked second in the conference with a 73.06 stroke average, has eight Top 10 finishes, and was the Medalist at The Velvet Classic with a 1-over 217. A three-time Big South Golfer of the Week honoree in 2024-25, Patterson is ranked No. 304 in the nation.
Beryl Giletti earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Giletti, a senior from Houilles, France, in 32 rounds this season averaged a 76.3 and finished in the top 50 in every tournament she competed in. Giletti's highest finish of the season was ninth at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate.
Morgan Guepet earned All-Conference Honorable Mention and All-Freshman Team honors. Guepet tied the program record for most Freshman of the Week honors in a season, as she earned the recognition four times this season. In 29 rounds, she averaged a 77.1. Her best finish of the season was seventh out of 65 competitors at the Bama Beach Bash.
Claudia Salvador earned All-Academic honors to conclude the Bulldogs' postseason awards. Salvador has a 3.958 GPA as an Economics major at UNC Asheville. At the Conference Championship, she earned her best finish of the season as she finished in 18th at the conclusion of stroke play.
