Women’s Golf Completes First Day of Pinetree Women’s Collegiate

KENNESAW, Ga. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team concluded day one of the Pinetree Women's Collegiate on Monday, March 24. After 36 holes, the Bulldogs sit in seventh with a two-round score of 591 (+23).
PLAYING SUMMARY
The Bulldogs finished the first round in fifth after shooting 12-over, but after a competitive second round of play, Asheville fell to seventh despite shooting a lower round (+11). The Bulldogs finished the first round tied with Florida Gulf Coast, but FGCU held on to fifth after shooting 4-over in the second round, and Louisiana-Monroe shot two-under in the second round to move up to sixth. Asheville's +12 in the first round was the fifth-best finish, while the Bulldogs' +11 finish was the second-highest score of the round.

PLAYER SUMMARY
Caroline Patterson led Asheville, shooting two rounds of 73, and finished the two rounds tied for 14th at 4-over par.
Morgan Guepet closely followed, shooting rounds of 75 and 72, and finished the two rounds tied for 17th at 5-over par.
Ally Kerr shot 2-over in the first round to be one of the top-20 individuals after the first 18 holes. Kerr shot a 75 in the second round to enter the final round of play, tied for 24th at 6-over par. As an individual, Claudia Salvador is also tied for 24th with rounds of 76 and 72. Salvador and Guepet shot Asheville's lowest rounds of the day, with each shooting a 72 in the second round.
Beryl Giletti closely followed with two rounds of 75 (+8). Giletti is tied for 35th entering tomorrow's final round.
Jordyn Arts is 10-over and tied for 45th with rounds of 75 and 77.
Kennedy Noe competed as an individual for the Bulldogs and shot a 93 and an 88.
