Baseball Falls in Series Opener to Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. — The UNC Asheville baseball team opened its final regular season series on Thursday at Presbyterian and fell to the Blue Hose 17-0.
The Blue Hose outhit the Bulldogs 16-1, with Asheville's lone hit coming in the ninth inning from Sam Gallardo.
Presbyterian's run production began with a solo homer in the second, followed by an RBI single in the third. The Blue Hose extended their lead with two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth before scoring seven runs in the seventh and five in the eighth.
The Bulldogs and Blue Hose will close out the regular season with a doubleheader beginning tomorrow, Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m.
