Madyson Gold Finishes Third, Bulldogs Finish Fourth at Brickyard Collegiate

MACON, Ga. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up play at the Brickyard Collegiate on Tuesday and finished in fourth place. Madyson Gold led the Bulldogs with an individual third-place finish.

HOW THE BULLDOGS FINISHED 

After shooting a 75 in the first round, Gold shot for par in the final two rounds of play to lead Asheville individually with a third-place finish. Gold was 3-over par for a tournament score of 219. She had eight birdies over the three rounds. 

Phoebe Carles moved up four spots from yesterday to finish tied for 26th with rounds of 74, 82 and 74. Carles finished 14-over par for a tournament score of 230. Carles recorded three birdies in round one to lead Asheville after the first 18 holes. 

Beryl Giletti finished in 28th with rounds of 75, 79 and 77. Giletti was 15-over par and finished with a tournament score of 231. 

Claudia Salvador and Hailey Pendleton tied for 30th, with Pendleton competing as an individual. Salvador shot rounds of 81, 74 and 78, and Pendleton shot rounds of 78, 83 and 72. Salvador and Pendleton finished 17-over par at 233. 

Pendleton and Gold were two of eight golfers out of 52 who competed to shoot par or lower in the third round. 

Ally Kerr finished tied for 38th with rounds of 84, 76 and 75, finishing 19-over par for a tournament score of 235. 

UP NEXT 

Asheville will now turn its attention to the Big South Conference Championships, which begins on Sunday, April 14, and runs through Wednesday, April 17, at the Ocean Creek Golf Course at Fripp Island, in South Carolina.
