Women’s Golf Prepares for Big South Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team returns to action on Sunday (April 14) to begin the 2024 Big South Conference Championships at the Ocean Creek Golf Course on Fripp Island, S.C.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

The Bulldogs enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed, with their national ranking of 158. The tournament will begin with a morning practice round Sunday morning, with the first round of competition to follow in the afternoon. A three-day, 54-hole stroke play event will be held April 14-16, followed by a Semifinal/Final Match Play round on Wednesday, April 17. The top four teams will advance to Wednesday's stroke play.

The champion from Match Play will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows and is subject to change due to weather:

A LOOK AT THE DOGS

Asheville enters the championship tournament following a fourth-place finish at the Brickyard Collegiate April 8-9. Madyson Gold led the team with an individual third-place finish with rounds of 75, 72, and 72. Gold's efforts helped her to earn Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
