Asheville Shoots Lowest Round Score of Tournament; Season Concludes at Big South Championship

FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team shot a tournament-low score of 294 on Tuesday and finished its 2024 season with a sixth-place finish at the Big South Conference Championship.
FINAL ROUND OF STROKE PLAY RECAP
The Bulldogs left it all out on the course on Tuesday. Asheville went from shooting the highest second-round team score on Monday (314) to the lowest round score of the entire stroke play portion of the tournament (294). Madyson Gold led Asheville with her lowest round of the year, as the senior shot a 69. Gold recorded an eagle and four birdies to finish the final 18 holes of play at 3-under. Gold tied with Charleston Southern's Font Garcia, who earned medalist honors, for the tournament's lowest round on Tuesday, and Gold's effort vaulted her nine spots into solo fourth.
Phoebe Carles finished even on the day with five birdies, Beryl Giletti finished 3-over (75), Hailey Pendleton finished 6-over (78), and Claudia Salvador finished 11-over (83).
Asheville and Radford each led the field with a third-round score of 294.
