Bulldogs Blank Lenoir-Rhyne for Sunday Non-Conference Win

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis blanked Lenoir-Rhyne 7-0 for a non-conference win on Sunday (Feb. 4) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
Asheville would sweep doubles play for the doubles point, before not surrendering a single set in singles play for the shutout.
Linge Steenkamp and Ari Siegel beat Runa Muderrisoglu and Claudia Orsini 7-6 at No. 1 doubles, before Louise Booker and Angelina Joy Hug beat Nellie and Wahlberg 6-0 at No. 2. Avery Sager and Valeria Centeno closed out doubles play with a 6-3 win over Dawson Clifford and Alexa Allison at No. 3. Steenkamp went on to beat Muderrisoglu 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Booker beat Orsini 6-2, 7-6 at No. 2. Alexis Nyborg posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Nellie Wahlberg at No. 3, while Rosie Dickson picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alicia Wahlberg at No. 4. Sager blanked Allison 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, before Centeno polished off the sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Jessica Fuchs at No. 6.
