Asheville Falls in Series Finale at Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The UNC Asheville baseball team faced Georgia in its series finale Sunday afternoon and fell 10-0 in seven innings.
Cameron Johnson and Robbie Burnett each went 1-for-3 on the day, recording Asheville's only hits.
Clay Edmondson got the start for Asheville and suffered the loss. Justin Needles and Nick Bruno made relief appearances.
Georgia's offense got its first runs on the board with back-to-back RBI singles in the second inning and scored five runs in the second, four of which were walked in. UGA extended its lead with two runs in the fourth before Bruno kept the Bulldogs off the board in the fifth and sixth innings. Georgia scored its 10th run with an RBI single to left field, putting the run-rule into effect to end the game in seven innings.
Asheville returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 20, as the Bulldogs travel to Tennessee to face the Volunteers at 4:30 p.m. in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
