ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team will return home to Greenwood Field this weekend to host No. 13 Campbell in a three-game Big South series. All three games this weekend, which is set to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday at Greenwood Field, are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

Game 3: TBD (CAM) vs. RHP Clay Edmondson (AVL) – 1 p.m. | Live Stats | ESPN+
Last Time Out – Asheville fell on the road to Western Carolina on Wednesday by a score of 19-7. With the loss, the Bulldogs moved to 21-20 on the 2023 season.
Bacot Nearing 50 RBI – Dylan Bacot drove in a pair of runs in Wednesday's game at WCU, which brought his RBI total to 48 on the season. With two more RBI, Bacot will become just the ninth Bulldog ever to drive in 50 runs in a season and the first to do so since Joe Tietjen in 2016.
Big Conference Series – This weekend is a big conference series for both the Bulldogs and Camels. Asheville, which is 7-11 in league play this spring, is trying work its way into one of the top four spots in the league standings to qualify for the upcoming Big South Baseball Tournament. Campbell, meanwhile, is looking to maintain the top spot in the Big South and claim its second straight regular season championship.
Home Sweet Home – Like most teams, the Bulldogs have played much better at home than on the road in 2023. 16 of Asheville's 21 victories have come when the Bulldogs have been the home team. The 16 home wins are the second most in the history of UNC Asheville baseball and the 2023 squad needs one more victory to match the program record of 17 set by the 2004 Bulldogs.
vs. Ranked Foes – This weekend's series will mark the second time this season that the Bulldogs have faced off against a ranked team (March 28 at No. 10 Tennessee). The last time Asheville defeated a ranked opponent was in 2016 when it knocked off No. 11 North Carolina, 3-2.
About Campbell – The 13th-ranked Camels have been a dominant team in 2023. Campbell's strength lies in its offense. Collectively, the Camels are hitting .313 as a team to go with 91 home runs and 108 stolen bases in 43 games played. Of their 33 victories, Campbell own victories over ranked teams like ECU (twice), Coastal Carolina, and perennial NCAA Tournament participant North Carolina.
Series Rewind vs. the Camels – Asheville and Campbell have met a total of 62 times over the years. The Camels are 41-21 all-time against the Bulldogs but they have not matched up since 2021. Campbell won the season series in 2021 winning four of the six games, but Asheville won the series played at Greenwood Field two games to one.
