Bulldogs Pick Up First Win of 2023 at UNC Greensboro Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Â The UNC Asheville women's tennis team picked up its first win of 2023 on Saturday (Jan. 21) at UNC Greensboro by a score of 5-2.
The Bulldogs won two out of three doubles matches to capture the doubles point, before picking up four singles wins to take the victory.
Linge Steenkamp and Ari Siegel teamed up for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while Elizabeth Tindera and Valeria Centeno picked up a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. Ami Grace Dougah gutted out a 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, before Steenkamp earned a 6-2, 7-5 straight-sets win at No. 2 singles. Pindera won at No. 3 singles 7-6, 6-4, before Avery Sager would pick up a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
The Bulldogs (1-1) return to the court next Saturday (Jan. 28) to host Emmanuel (Ga.) in non-conference action. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
