Women's Tennis Hits the Road for a Non-Conference Match at UNC Greensboro on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team hits the road for a non-conference match at UNC Greensboro on Saturday (Jan. 21).
Last Time Out - The Bulldogs dropped their season opener on Sunday (Jan. 15) to Chattanooga by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs were able to capture the doubles point behind identical 7-6 victories at No. 1 and No. 2, before Chattanooga rallied for four singles victories in the match. Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson defeated Caroline Gibbens and Jessie Young 7-6 at No. 1 doubles, before Valeria Centeno and Elizabeth Tindera picked up a 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles over Nicole Abel and Lusia Mendelez. Dougah would win her contest at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 over Coco Bosman, while Tindera would grind out a 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Young.
About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs enter the match at 0-1 overall with two victories each at singles and doubles on the season. Dougah and Tindera each have picked up one singles victory, while the teams of Tindera/Centeno and Dougah/Dickson each have one doubles win on the season. Â
About the Spartans - UNC Greensboro comes into the match at 0-1 overall after a 7-0 loss to Clemson back on Jan. 14.
