Delaney Carlton Named CCSA Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) announced on Tuesday that Delaney Carlton of the UNC Asheville swimming & diving team had been named the League's Swimmer of the Week for competitions held between January 9-15.

This marks the second weekly honor for Carlton this season and the fifth of her career. Asheville has now earned five weekly awards in 2022-23 from Morgan Coughlen (Diver – October 4), Jade Canady (Diver – November 8), and Caitlin Hefner (Swimmer – December 20).

Carlton led the way for Asheville's swimmers in a 233.5-119.5 win over Georgia Southern over the weekend. She logged five first-place finishes, set two lifetime best times in the 200-yard medley relay (26.38 split) and in the 100-yard backstroke (56.76). She also broke the pool record in the 400-yard medley relay (51.31r).

Carlton and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action this weekend when they wrap up the regular season with their senior day competitions on Friday and Saturday.
