Women's Tennis Drops Close Season Opener to Chattanooga on Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis dropped a close season opener to visiting Chattanooga on Sunday (Jan. 15) by a score of 4-3.
The Bulldogs were able to capture the doubles point behind identical 7-6 victories at No. 1 and No. 2, before Chattanooga rallied for four singles victories in the match.
Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson defeated Caroline Gibbens and Jessie Young 7-6 at No. 1 doubles, before Valeria Centeno and Elizabeth Tindera picked up a 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles over Nicole Abel and Lusia Mendelez. Dougah would win her contest at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 over Coco Bosman, while Tindera would grind out a 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Young.
