Men’s Tennis bounces back with 6-1 win at Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team got back into the win column on Saturday, defeating the Hampton Pirates by a score of 6-1.
Quinn Fender and Harry Thursfield made quick work at the No. 2 doubles flight with a 6-0 bagel as the Bulldogs earned the team point via a Hampton forfeit at the No. 3 flight.
Rafa Serra kept things rolling in singles action, taking the No. 5 flight 6-1, 6-1, while his brother Bruno Serra swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 position. Thursfield looked strong at the No. 2 spot, winning the first set 6-1 and taking the second 6-2. The Pirates were able to get a point at the No. 4 spot, with Jon Brann Reid putting an exclamation point on the a three-set victory at the No. 1 position (5-7, 6-3, 1-0/7-5 tiebreak).
The Bulldogs improve to 9-6 overall and move to an even 3-3 in league play, returning to the court this coming Wednesday, hosting Gardner-Webb on their senior day.
