ASHEVILLE, N.C. – No. 4 UNC Asheville Women's Tennis is set to host No. 5 Presbyterian for the first round of the Big South Tournament Saturday, April 16th, at 12:00 p.m.
Asheville's 12-5 regular-season record was the most wins since the 2014-15 season, and the No. 4 seed is the highest earned since 2010.
The Bulldogs recently faced the Blue Hose a week ago on Senior Day, where they picked up their fifth 7-0 win of the season, and second in Big South play.
Asheville and Presbyterian have faced off twice in the Big South Tournament, with the Bulldogs taking both matchups in 2014 and 2019.
In 2019, No. 7 UNC Asheville upset No. 2 Presbyterian 4-2 in the quarterfinals that included a straight-set win from Lize Alet Morkel on the No. 1 court.
Asheville has hosted a Big South game twice in 2012 and 2015, with the Bulldogs losing both to Winthrop 4-0.
Should the Bulldogs advance, the semifinals and finals take place at the Marion Diehl Tennis Center in Charlotte on April 22nd and 23rd.
Saturday's match will start at 12:00 p.m. at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
