Tajion Jones returns for one final ride

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's basketball guard Tajion Jones announced Monday that he would be returning to the Bulldogs for the 2022-23 season. A redshirt senior, Jones is using his extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA for the COVID-impacted 2020-21 season, to stay in Asheville and continue to re-write the Bulldog record books.
Ranking second all-time at UNC Asheville in made 3-pointers (261), Jones' 83 treys this season were sixth-most in program history in a single season. Jones' ability to score was evident since he stepped foot on campus, with his 1,466 career points scored ranking seventh all-time in the Division I era (1986-87) and 11th all-time at the University.
Currently, Jones ranks fourth all-time at UNC Asheville in 3-point field goal percentage (.379), fifth in minutes played (3,746) and made field goals (521), and is sixth in field goal percentage (.452).
Among Big South players, Jones ranks seventh in effective shooting percentage (.565), 15th in true shooting percentage (.581), 18th in made 3-pointers (261). Jones is also the active leader in 3-pointers and field goals made while ranking second in career scoring.
