Bulldog Alum Tajion Jones '23 Signs with Polish Club Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski

Ostrów Wielkopolski, Poland – Former UNC Asheville men's basketball standout Tajion Jones has signed with Polish professional club Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski for the 2026-27 season.
Jones, who graduated from UNC Asheville in 2023, continues his professional career after spending the past two seasons competing in Europe. The Asheville alum joins Stal after splitting the 2025-26 campaign between Italy's top division, Lega A, with Vanoli Cremona and Italy's second division with Enel Brindisi.
Jones appeared in 149 career games and ranks among the program's most accomplished players, as he holds multiple program records, highlighted by being the leading scorer in Bulldog basketball history (1,987 points). Jones averaged 13.3 points per game in his career at Asheville and had a program record 360 3-pointers. During his senior season in 2022-23, he earned First Team All-Big South honors and led Asheville to a Big South Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Jones began his professional career with ZZ Leiden in the Netherlands during the 2023-24 season, where he emerged as one of the team's top contributors. He averaged 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range. He also competed in the FIBA Europe Cup, appearing in 10 games on the international stage.
Last season, Jones played 22 games in Italy's Lega A and six contests in Legadue, averaging 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game while shooting 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.
According to Stal head coach Andrzej Urban, Jones was targeted for his scoring ability and experience competing at a high professional level.
