BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – In their second outdoor meet of the season, the UNC Asheville track & field logged several standout performances on the final day of the Montreat Invitational on Saturday. Overall, the Bulldogs broke one outdoor school record, won six events, and totaled 14 podium finishes on the day.

Highlighting the action on Saturday for Asheville was the outdoor school record being broken. Senior Solomon McDonald, who rewrote the record book several times during the indoor season, broke the program's top mark in the shot put with a toss of 17.61-meters. McDonald broke his own record in the event that he set at last year's Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships (17.29-meters).

Nick Roberts, meanwhile, established a new personal-best time in the 110-meter hurdles clocking in at 15.02 that logged another first-place finish for the Bulldogs. Roberts also finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.65.

Asheville won two other individual events on the track Saturday. Anthony Mason paced the field in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.51, while Jalen Anderson did the same in the 200-meter dash (21.75).

The Bulldogs also tallied event wins in both of the 4x400-meter relay races. The team of Elyse Myles, Mallory Haney, Raven Thurman, and Khadeesha Crumbly topped the women's race with a time of 4:05.76, while the foursome of Anthony Mason, Isaac Teasley, Denley Joseph, Bryson Riddick did the same in the men's race with a time of 3:21.55.

Other podium finishes for Asheville on Saturday included Jurnee Coleman (100m hurdles – 2nd – 15.27), Mallory Haney (400m dash – 2nd – 59.03), Claudia Prieto (Triple Jump – 2nd – 11.60-meters), Maya Stanley (Shot Put – 2nd – 11.52-meters), Kathryn Brown (High Jump – 2nd – 1.54-meters) and Jerralee Testa (400m hurdles – 3rd – 1:07.88).
