Drew Pember named to NABC All-District Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) released the 20222 NABC Division I All-District Teams on Tuesday, as UNC Asheville's Drew Pember earned District 3 Second Team honors.

A transfer from Tennessee, Pember was dominant this season, leading the Big South in scoring (19.3 ppg), free throws made (99) and free throw attempts (117) en route to All-Big South First Team recognition.

As good as he was on offense, Pember spent the majority of the season ranking top 5 nationally in blocks (85) and blocks per game (2.9), becoming just the third Bulldog to be named Big South Defensive Player of the Year. In league games, Pember ranked second in blocks (35), blocks per game (2.3), rebounds (108), rebounds per game (7.2) and free throw percentage (84.6). His 85 blocks in a season are tied for fourth all-time at UNC Asheville, already ranking him 10^th in program history for blocks.

Earning Big South Player of the Week honors three times, Pember has scored 20-plus points eight times, seven of which were against Big South foes. Pember's biggest game of the season came in an overtime win at Radford in which the junior scored 41 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
