02.25.2022 | Women's Basketball

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team will close out its regular season on Saturday when it welcomes Charleston Southern to Kimmel Arena. Tip-off for Saturday's game, which is presented by BMW, is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

Events around the game – In honor of this weekend being homecoming, there will be a Bulldog block party prior to Saturday's game from 12-2 p.m. that will feature local food trucks along with beer and wine tents. Furthermore, Saturday will be a 'White Out' with the first 1,000 fans in attendance receiving a free T-Shirt. Tickets start at $5, and it'll also mark the final 'Salute to Service' Saturday of the season, where any active or retired member of the military will receive free admission with a valid military ID.

Last Time Out – Asheville battled well but fell to High Point on Wednesday by a score of 74-62 in its final road game of the regular season. With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 7-21 overall and 2-15 in league play.

Nadiria Nears more Milestones – In a season where Nadiria Evans has achieved multiple milestones and broken records, she has a few more within reach as this season comes to an end. Evans needs to score just 22 more points to break the program's single-season scoring record in the Division I era held by Emily Hill (506 points – 1997-98). With seven more rebounds, Evans will become the 20th Bulldog ever to record 500 rebounds in their career and the fourth to score over 1,500 points and grab over 500 rebounds joining Shelia Ford, Kim Duncan, and Vicki Giffin.
