Last Time Out - Asheville fell on the road at #15 Tennessee on Wednesday by a score of 16-1. With the loss, Asheville's record moved to 0-4 on the young 2022 season.
Home Sweet Home - The Bulldogs open their home schedule this weekend with hopes of replicating or improving upon the success that they found playing at home in 2021. Last season, the Bulldogs went 11-11 at Greenwood Field, which included five series victories against Big South foes.
Catrine crushes first home run - A highlight in Asheville's trip to Knoxville Wednesday night came in the ninth inning when Kevin Catrine blasted his first home run of the season. It also marked Catrine's first home run as a Bulldog.
Good eye at the plate - A bright spot for Asheville in the early going has been its patience at the plate. Wednesday's game vs. Tennessee marked the third straight game that the Bulldogs have walked five times in a game. In comparison, the Bulldogs drew five or more walks 14 times in 48 games last spring.
About Niagara - Like the Bulldogs, Niagara is searching for its first win of the 2022 season when it makes its first-ever trip to Asheville this weekend. The Purple Eagles, who were swept in a four-game series at Western Carolina over the weekend, are led by Dawson Bailey. Bailey is hitting .375 with two home runs, and five RBI in four games played so far in 2022.
