Men’s Basketball returns home to host UT Martin on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's basketball team will return home on Saturday to take on UT Martin at Kimmel Arena. Tip-off between the Bulldogs and Skyhawks is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+ and locally on CW62.

Pember remains Big South Leader in multiple categories – Drew Pember enters the second month of the season at the top of several statistical categories in the Big South. Pember leads all players in the conference in blocks (19), blocks per game (2.71), free throws made (44) and attempted (53), points scored (151), scoring average (21.6), rebounds (56), and rebounding average (8.0).
Jones nears rarified air in Bulldog basketball history - Tajion Jones is nearing some career milestones that few Bulldogs before him have reached. Jones ranks seventh on Asheville's all-time scoring list with 1,571 points. Furthermore, Jones' point total ranks fourth among players that played during the Division I era. On top of his point total, Jones needs to make just 14 more 3-pointers to become the program's all-time leader in that category.
Bulldogs from Beyond the Arc – Asheville has been one of the top teams in the country in 3-point shooting. The Bulldogs are 14th nationally and first in the Big South knocking down 40.6 percent of their 3-point attempts.
About UT Martin – UT Martin will come to Asheville sporting a 4-4 record so far this season. The Skyhawks are led by a pair of double-figure scorers in Parker Stewart (16.9 PPG) and KJ Simon (15.4 PPG).
Series Rewind vs. Skyhawks – Asheville and UT Martin have met a total of four times over the years with all four matchups occurring since 2017. The Bulldogs won the lone game between the two programs played in Kimmel Arena in 2019 (91-72), but the Skyhawks have come away with the win in the other three meetings, including a 79-68 victory last December.
