Men’s Soccer preps for a match Tuesday vs. Longwood

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Longwood at Greenwood Field. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Lancers is slated for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville dropped a 1-0 decision to Winthrop on Saturday night at Greenwood Field. With Saturday's result, the Bulldogs are now 1-9-3 overall and 0-2-2 in Big South play.
Schedule Switch – Tuesday's match is a result of an earlier postponement. The Bulldogs and Lancers were supposed to face off on October 1, but the contest was postponed due to the impacts of Hurricane Ian.
Sam second in the Big South – Freshman Sam Pitts-Eckersall enters Tuesday's tilt vs. Longwood tied for second in the Big South with five goals scored this season. Only Campbell's Jalen James (seven goals) has netted more goals than Pitts-Eckersall among Big South players in 2022.
Match Information – Due to the unique start time, the concession stand will not be on Tuesday. Fans will be allowed to bring in an unopened non-alcoholic beverage to the match. Furthermore, the winning student of the Bulldog Big Blue Weekend will receive their prize of a LED Smart TV at halftime of the contest.
About Longwood – Longwood will come to Asheville on Tuesday with a record of 1-8-3 overall and 0-4 in Big South action. The Lancers have tallied draws against William & Mary, American, and Liberty this fall with their lone victory coming against VMI by a score of 3-1.
