ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Women's Tennis will make its first road trip of the year, traveling to Greensboro, North Carolina, to play the UNCG Spartans on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
The Bulldogs opened spring play strong, capping off last weekend with two 7-0 victories against Tusculum and Lees-McRae.
Sunday against the Bobcats, every Bulldog won their respective singles matches in straight sets, while the closest doubles match went to 6-4.
The Spartans open their season against the Bulldogs, as its match last week was cancelled against Kennesaw State.
Like Asheville, UNCG competed in the Elon Fall Invitational, but neither team had a matchup in bracket play.
UNCG leads the all-time series 8-1, but the Bulldogs captured their most recent victory in the 2019-2020 season. Big South Player of the Week Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson each won their singles matches in straight sets, while Dougah picked up a doubles win on the way to a 4-3 match victory.
