Women’s soccer hosts Gardner-Webb Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will host its last matchup at Greenwood Field this season on Sunday, welcoming Gardner-Webb with a scheduled kickoff of 12:00 p.m.

A Look at the Bulldogs
Asheville sits at 1-7 on the season, most recently falling at Presbyterian 2-0 on Thursday night. The Bulldogs battled the Blue Hose until half, but the Blue Hose scored twice in the second 45 to take the contest. Bryson Lee registered her first start of the season while the team totaled 11 shots with two on goal.

Scouting Gardner-Webb
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 2-5-2 overall on the year, going 2-4-2 in conference play. The Runnin' Bulldogs battled USC Upstate on Thursday, falling by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Gardner-Webb has only scored seven goals all season, getting four from Jada Newton. The Runnin' Bulldogs have played three different goalkeepers with Katelyn Kellog getting the majority of the playing time and totaling 31 saves.

Series History
Since 2004, Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville have met 14 times, with the Runnin' Bulldogs getting the better of the two sides, going 9-3-2. The Bulldogs are 2-3-1 at Greenwood Field, tying two of the last three matchups. Asheville's last win over Gardner-Webb was in 2014 when the Bulldogs prevailed 2-1 at home.

Attendance Policy
Face coverings are required, and social distancing protocols will be in place, limiting seating capacity to Asheville fans that are on the designated pass list. Attendees will be allowed to bring tailgate chairs and game operations staff will direct fans to sit in a socially distant manner. No visiting fans will be admitted.
