Women’s Tennis travels hosts Radford on Saturday

ASHEVILLE N.C. – Coming off a strong 2-0 weekend in Big South play, the UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team returns home on Saturday, welcoming Radford to the Asheville Racquet Club at 2:00 p.m.
After two strong wins at Longwood (6-1) and Campbell (4-3), Asheville sits at 5-5 overall and is 2-1 in Big South play. Liz Alet Morkel has been the story for the Bulldogs this season, going 9-1 overall and 8-1 at the No. 1 singles flight. Ami Grace Dougah has held her own in singles action, going 8-2 overall and 7-2 at the No. 2 flight. Dougah and Dickson have been the strong point for Asheville at doubles, going 6-2 as a duo. At Campbell on Sunday, the teams were knotted up with three points apiece, before Dougah prevailed in three sets to give Asheville the win.
Scouting the Highlanders
Radford is 3-7 overall but 1-1 in conference play, defeating Campbell but falling to Presbyterian. As a duo, Tyler Blalock and Katey Fruehauf are 6-2 at the No. 3 flight. Individually, Salma Loudili has gone 6-3, playing at flights No. 1, 2 and 3.
Series History
Since 2005, the two sides have met 17 times, with Radford taking 10 and Asheville seven matches overall. The Highlanders enter the weekend having won the last three contests, but two have been one-point victories. Asheville last won in 2017, topping Radford 6-1 at the Asheville Racquet Club.
