Women’s Tennis drops match to UNC Wilmington

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team hosted UNC Wilmington on Friday afternoon, falling by the score of 5-2.
Rosie Dickson and Ami Grace Dougah got things off to a good start topping their No. 1 doubles opponent 6-4. Lize Alet Morkel and Taylor Love battled at the No. 2 doubles, but ultimately fell 6-4, with Beatrice Faureng and Brianna Taranto suffering the same fate at No. 3 doubles.
Morkel fared better in singles competition, with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 1 flight. Dougah had to battle at the No. 2 singles flight, but ended her day 2-0 after she topped Charlotte Madson in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-1). UNC Wilmington would grab the rest of the singles matches, but not without a pair of valiant efforts from Anastasia Horvat and Beatrice Faureng, who each forced a third and decisive set.
