ASHEVILLE, N.C.  – The UNC Asheville men's basketball will welcome North Carolina Central to town on Saturday, tipping off against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. from Kimmel Arena.

Last Time Out
The Bulldogs enter the weekend after a strong 65-58 win over high-scoring The Citadel on Wednesday night, improving its record to 4-3 on the season. North Carolina Central, meanwhile, improved its record to 3-5, registering a 67-65 victory at USC Upstate on Wednesday.

A Balanced Effort
The Bulldogs made things difficult for The Citadel, holding the nation's top 3-point shooting squad (13.3 3PFG per game) to just 2-of-24 from behind the arc. For the season, the Bulldogs are holding opponents to just 23 percent shooting from 3-point range, ranking fifth in all of Division I. Another key reason for Asheville's success was its effectiveness inside, snagging a season-high 47 boards while scoring 38 points in the paint. Eight of the nine Bulldogs who appeared in the game against The Citadel scored at least three points as Asheville limited an offense - which was seventh in the nation in scoring coming into the contest (88.3 ppg) - to its lowest point total all year.

Scouting The Eagles
North Carolina Central scored a solid road victory on Wednesday night with a down-to-the wire victory at USC Upstate. Redshirt senior Randy Miller Jr. leads the Eagles with 12.3 points per game, while Eric Boone, who scored Wednesday's game-winner, is pouring in 9.4 points per contest. Like Asheville, NCCU likes to rotate a lot of players, with eight Eagles averaging 11 or more minutes per contest. NCCU hounds the ball defensively, averaging 10.4 steals per game which ranks in the top 20 among all Division I teams. On the season, NCCU is 1-1 against Big South foes thus far, falling to Gardner-Webb 83-58 on November 29.

Series History
The Bulldogs and Eagles have met just twice in their respective histories, last playing in the 1983-84 season. Asheville has been victorious in both meetings.
