Golf to open up play in Edisto Island Invitational Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team will travel to Edisto, South Carolina, this weekend to compete in the Edisto Island Invitational on Sunday through Tuesday.
The tournament opens up with 18 holes on Sunday, with a shotgun start at 2:00 p.m. The action resumes for round two on Monday at 10:00 a.m., with the final 18 beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The Bulldogs will be grouped with players from The Citadel, College of Charleston and Longwood to start on Sunday.
This past week, Asheville competed in the Aggie Invitational, finishing T-2 winning two of three rounds as a team. Venecia Zaia led the way for the Bulldogs, winning all three of her matches, needing just 37 holes to accomplish the feat.
Phoebe Carles also went 3-0 in the Aggie Invitational, while Madyson Gold claimed her last victory 5&3.
