Women’s Soccer travels to Radford Wednesday

10.05.2021 | Women's Soccer

ASHEVILLE, N.C.  The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will start a two-game road trip tomorrow with a visit to Radford at 7:00 p.m.

Letting Loose
After getting outshot in all but one of their first eight games, the Bulldogs have turned the page and outshot opponents 52-37 in their last four contests, including a 15-7 mark in a 2-0 loss last Saturday to Charleston Southern. The Bulldogs had multiple chances against the Buccaneers, including two ricochets off the crossbar and post from Gillian Oyos, but goals in the 56th and 81st minutes sealed the game for Charleston Southern.

Scouting the Highlanders
Radford started the season red-hot at 5-0, highlighted by a 7-0 win at Wofford and an 8-0 win against Delaware State. Since the middle of September, however, the Highlanders have gone 1-3-1 and are 0-3-1 in Big South play. Despite the recent struggles, Radford boasts two of the top three scorers in the Big South in Kat Parris, who has a season-leading eight goals on the year, and Brianna Oliver, who has tallied five.

Series History
The Bulldogs are 8-22-3 against the Highlanders all-time, with the last win coming in the 2015 season. In last year's contest, Radford was able to hold on to a 1-0 lead after a goal in the 5th minute, limiting the Bulldogs to just six shots by the end of the match.
