Golf finishes strong at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up play at the Aggie Invitational on Tuesday, claiming their third match play round in convincing fashion.
After splitting Monday's match play rounds, the Bulldogs bounced back to take round three over Howard on Tuesday.
Venecia Zaia continued to be locked in, winning her match 7 & 5 on Tuesday morning. Zaia, who won both matches Monday, only needed 37 of 54 holes over the three rounds and birdied 17 of the 37 holes played.
Like Zaia, Phoebe Carles was victorious in her match on Tuesday (5 & 3), to go 3-0 in the Aggie Invitational. Madyson Gold finished strong, going 5-up with three to play to help the Bulldogs clinch their team victory in round three. Hailey Pendleton, who won her second round, fell two down in round three on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs will tee it up next weekend at the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston.
