UNC Asheville’s Contest at Radford Selected as ESPNU Wildcard Game

CHARLOTTE – UNC Asheville men's basketball game at Radford, scheduled for Thursday, February 20, has been selected as the ESPNU Wildcard Game, the Big South Conference announced, Wednesday.
Tipoff, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., has been pushed back to 9 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast on ESPNU. It is the fifth Wildcard broadcast of the season for the Big South, and the first featuring the Bulldogs.
The showdown is a rematch of a game played earlier this season, January 23, inside Kimmel Arena, in which the Bulldogs emerged victorious against the preseason Big South-favorite Highlanders, 80-67. Tajion Jones led the way with a season-high 29 points in the game – including a career-best seven made 3-pointers. LJ Thorpe added 20 points and seven rebounds.
As a team against Radford, the Bulldogs shot 52 percent from the field – their second-highest percentage of the season – and turned the ball over just nine times.
The Bulldogs' next game is set for 6 p.m., Thursday, February 6, inside Kimmel Arena. The game is presented by Carolina Alliance Bank, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
